Skis that wont bring down the front....

So I remember having someone on here tell me that my C&A's lowered the front of my SXR some, I do a good amount of off-trail riding and I am plowing a lot of snow. What skis would actually reverse that and/or give me a little more clearence in the front?
 
I highly doubt that the amount that they lowered your front end of your sled(prob less then 3/4") would be noticable when off-trail riding. Im sure there are better ski options for off trail, but if you are happy with the ski performance, I wouldnt spend the $ to change them.

Ya I like the C&A's, and I really dont want to put Viper spindles and trailing arms on either.
 
Skidoo Pilot skis will keep the same height. I don't think there are too many that will actually raise the height. You can flip your front suspension mounts to raise your front end.

I thought that the amount of height you loose was more like 1"-1 1/2". Pretty much the only way to maintain the height is to keep the OEM aluminum saddle. That being said you are limited to the plastic ski bottoms that came on the SRX/SX or the wider ones that came on the Mountain Max sleds. Actually the GYT Mountain Max skis are really excellent. That's what I run on my SXR which has been converted over to a semi off trail/boondocker type sled.

That is great to know.....I can't believe I've never come accross that on this site before. Those Project X skis are pretty darn nice.....gotta look into that.

Are pretty much all the USI's the same bolt pattern?

the current yamaha mountain ski are really good off trail on the 2 strokes. raises the front end a bit but the floatation is awsome. brothers viper used to always submarine off trail untill we put them on. i got a set of take-offs from a member on the 4 stroke side.
 
I just bough the c+a skis for my srx and you only loose like 1/4 in after its all said and done because the carbides for the c+a skies are alot bigger in diameter (1/2in) vs the 7/16 or 3/8. I bought the stud boy ones, they seem pretty nice.
 
when I bought USI's for my 600 along with their saddles,it dropped my front end more then an inch if I remember correctly.When I hit the deep snow,I was throwing more snow up probably because the skid plate along the edges where they protect the frontradius rods was hitting the snow and I was getting snow over my hood and into my shield.I have a low windshied also which didn't help.So I took the stock saddles and the holes lined up and the saddle actually dropped down into the ski..just made it.It raised the front back up and last season no more snow flying over the hood either.

You wont want to use the wearbar diameter to determine the ride hieght difference. The only place that will effect is its hieght on dry pavement.Other wise the keel and wearbar ride below the surface of the snow.
In powder, the only thing that would make a difference is the measurement from center of spindle/ski bolt and the flat bottom side of the ski. Thats where your floatation hight will come from.
The keel and runner will have little, if any,ride hieght effect in the powder.
