I just bought a 97 700 SX with hauck tripples (for $350!!). What jetting should this be running to be sure it is trail reliable and can run wfo on the lake??? The pipes have individual silencers, are they hushers or howlers?? Best peak RPM????

Thanks

P.S Fuel is E10, is 87 octane ok like the stockers??

150 mains, stock pilots, needle in 4th position, 8900-9000 peak rpm's

I have 145 recoil 145 cen 146.5 clutch on mine with stock pilots I do not know what the needles are on. The carbs where set up for psi pipes when I got the motor from a wreaked sled. I now have hauck. I hope it not to lean.

I would run 91 at least w the pipes!!! :letitsnow

I pulled the carbs to clean and check what jetting was in the sled. Carbs were VERY clean and jetting was as follows Mains were 150 all 3
Pilots were 47.5 pto and center but the mag side was a 50
Fuel screws were 2.5 turns all 3. I didnt check the needles yet but hauck recomends one clip richer on center and mag.

I left jets as found, but I am somewhat concerned that the 50 pilot on the mag will be a bit rich???

Any ideas?? Needle reccomendations??

Thanks

That's a rich pilot (50) for Hauck pipes! You'll be fine with the stock (45) pilots... But raise your needle (lower clip) to the 4th notch from the top! Your needle setting is essentially you trail cruising speeds (1/4-3/4 throttle) and the most common area of lean burn down! My exact set up is as follows

148.8 mains
45 pilots
needle up 1
fuel screws out 2.0 turns

all same on all cylinders!

Good luck!!
