according to my manual, it says that if running 5% ethanol or higher, you have to richen the sled up a bit. Im bring sled to my mechanic to clean and sync the carb next week. What should i have him change for me while he is cleaning the carbs? im very novice with all this. This mechanic is very well known around me, and has a very very good reputation and has never failed me nor others, plus is very reasonable... he said the redhead triple is perhaps the most bullit proof engine he has ever seen, and he hates them because he makes no money on them..LOL... he was kidding of course.. but when i mentioned to him about changing jets, he said to leave the jets as is... the 10% ethanol will not harm it if not left in tank long.. He said the factory specs are fine for the redhead with the ethanol and just dont wot long when really cold out.... If i want to insist he change it for the 10% ethanol, what is it exactly that I ask him to do? im not worried about the WOT because i hardly ever wot my sleds, maybe for a matter of 5 seconds or so, i never wot them...And what is the reason i want it to run richer with the ethanol? Do I just ask him to adj the sled so it runs alittle richer? do i ask him to put a new jet in it? i dont know any of these terms, im real novice, and im only going by the owners manual. He told me that im looking to much into it... dont leave the gas in the sled too long, and keep the carbs clean, and i wont have any issues with 10% ethanol at the factory specs... is this correct?
