So I was just browsing a local site and came across these. I have been reading that people notice a bit of a benefit from these and was looking at getting them and possibly a bender clutch and reed spacers. The sled worked great for me last season (was the first season I had it) and am getting the carbs redone this month and was looking at a few things that might make it a little more fun to drive this season. Just wondering if this is something that would compliment this sled as it seems like a good deal. I'm heading over on monday to pick them up just thought I would get some input on them but from what I can read on here it appears people seem to like the bender rods. With the transer rods and possibly the bender clutch with reed spacers I was thinking it might make the sled perform a little better for me. Any insight would be appreciated. So would they work as the bender ones do...seems weird someone would go through the trouble of getting the adjustable parts from bender and not do the whole thing.

Do you have any pictures? Just curious to know how much different yours are compared to the ones in the link I provided and if there would be a difference in performance between the two. I live in canada so not sure what the shipping would be.
 
they all do the same thing. some are just easier to adjust than others, those blue ones adjust by hand, some others you will need wrenches to adjust.
 
I have been looking around in the classifieds and found other bender transfer rods that look the same as the ones in the link I provided. So I'll be picking them up tomorrow. Now just need reed spacers and get the clutching setup better and I should be ready for a good season.

Just saw your post... If you still want to see pics of mine, they look a bit different than yours, but they are Benders. Let me know. I can snap some and post them tomorrow.

I should be good. Looks like the ones I found are the first gen of the bender tansfer rods. Its a local buy and don't have to worry about shipping/duty. Thanks for the offer. If for some reason the deal falls through I will PM you. Thanks.
 
Well I went to pick up the transfer rods and when I got there he said that one of them was seized and ended up cracking it trying to free it. Anyways, he had another set of adjustable transfer rods off a 98 srx that he dragged raced so he sold me those ones. Look a little different than the 1st gen bender ones but looks like they will do the exact same thing. He has them set all the way open to get maximum transfer for drag racing so I was think to start around 50% and see how I like that. Does that sound like a good place to start with? Anyways, I'm not sure on the brand of them but thought I would post a picture of them to see if anyone has an idea of what they are.

I might be interested in your transfer rods Sleddineiner. Can you post some pics and maybe measure them... I think they would work on my 2000 SX-R
 
Do you know what brand they are? Just trying to see if I got a deal or not.

I mainly trail ride, but I like to ride aggressive so I don't want the skis lifting every corner I accelerate through. I want a little more weight transfer to help with traction but keep the front pretty stable. I know it will take a little playing with to set it where I like, just looking for how people have theirs set and how it performs.

musselman - Can't seem to find ACS max transfer rods online. Maybe they aren't a company anymore. But mine don't have the lettering engraved in them like yours do.

hmm maybe they don't make them anymore, I got mine like 10 years ago. I had them set at the 4th line on top before and it would lift the skis a bit but not excessively. Just move them around in that general spot and you should find the sweet spot.
 
Thanks for the insight, I can't wait to see how much it helps. Hopefully picking up a bored muffler tomorrow and then just some reed spacers and hopefully have a good season ahead.
 
Adjustable rod are nice to use in different riding condition,,, If your concern is keeping the skis on the ground in the twist es,,, just dial them down to handle the situation..... Are nice to have..... period..
