Anyone had issues with their SRX outer primary clutch cracking in half? I hace a crack on outer sheeve running from shaft to the outside of the cluch plate.....Replacement sugestion???
Were the clutches updated in 2000 with thicker sheaves? I might have heard that somewhere on here many moons ago.

I have a 99 srx and the previous owner cracked a primary, it was replaced with a newer clutch, haven't any issues in 18,000km. He also went through a belt every two weeks so i don't know if this put stress on primary or not.
not sure if it was ever replaced with a thicker one...Is a 2000-2001 a direct replacement?
I've been rebuilding my rear suspension and other misc. cleaning for winter and removed the belt to clean clutch surface and noticed it? Why is it we love wrenching on these machines to ride for 3 months...lol
newer can be a direct replacement.. just be sure you have the weights, rollers, and spring you had before so your sled will perform the same.
just swap those internals from your old clutch if they are not worn out.

Thanks for the advice has been real helpful...I'll look for a used 01/02 primary.
if you get an 01/02 primary dont swap the weights. the 8dn-20's are much better for trail performance then the 00's just get a WWW primary spring and fill the 20's with 4.5 grams in both holes and a good helix for secondary
