gas tank cleaning procedure

I decided to rebuild the SRX. Anyone know of the correct way to flush out the gas tank? I looked in there with a flashlight and saw some crap floating around. Also, should I then get all new gas lines or should I inspect and clear them out with compressed air? Thanks in advance!

Remove seat,, tank,, then just flush out with hose and let air dry for a couple days....
 
You may want to empty, add a a little gas and SeaFoam and put the cap on, and then shake it around to help free up any debris that might cling to the tank before doing what Whammy suggested.
 
I just bought an SRX gas tank from a buddy who had a wrecked SRX stored outside for a long time. I took the cap off the tank and remove the white plastic cylinder in the filler neck. I dumped out the old stale gas and debris. I put in about 1/2 gallon of gas, shook it up and dumped it out. I repeated this procedure 3 times, the last time I added 6 ounces of Seafoam, shook it up real good and dumped it out. I removed the old filter from the hose inside the tank and replaced it with a new one. I replaced all of the gas and vent lines with the clear blue polyurethane tubing. Good as new!!
 
Sounds good guys- thx for the advice. Where would I get quality blue polyurethane tubing for a resonable price? Seems like the right thing to do since this is a 13 year old machine.
 
I just ordered the blue polyurethane tubing fom dennis Kirk although one of teh TY site sponsors might carry it. The part no. is 18-5005 for the tubing with 3/16" ID and 18-5006 for the tubing with 1/4" ID. $3.00 for five foot length.
