i have a 2000 sxr 600 just got my track on today 1.25 ripsaw
i was wondering if who here ran stock gears and if should gear it or leave it alone we havent had any snow yet but would like to get ready!!! some input would be great thanks

gearing down with give you a better ratio with more torque.More get up and go.Sometimes you may even pick up speed with it because clutches are more efficient running.

a 20 upper and 41 will have the same ratio as the 19 upper and 39 lower
2.05 ratio but found out with runnig a 41 lower i will need a 70 link chain
so i was wondering can i use a 19 tooth off of another sled or what will work other than a yamaha gear

any step by step instructions on how to change a track on here anwherE?
go to tech page look for track then look for Procedure for Replacing your Track

Any combination will work to get the ratio you want as long as you use the right chain size. The most efficient is the combo that has the least amount of bend in the chain to get the right tension. You should have 13W HYVO gears, so make sure that is what you have in there. Other HYVO gears will work, but you will need to machine or use spacers depending on which one you use.

The best solution if you plan to run it for a long time is to replace both gears and chain.

2.05 is too slow. You would like something like 1.90. I have ran 20/40 gears in my piped 700 at 9000rpm a couple of years ago and it was too slow for long straight, but ok for boondocking. It depend how you ride the sled but 20/39 should do the task.
