Well i picked up a set of br9es this weekend and paid 1.99 each, that was at farm & fleet. Alot cheaper than the dealership.
 
BR9ECS currently $4.80 each, they were on sale a few weeks ago for like $4.20 and that was farm & fleet.
not sure if you should be running the BR9ES though.....
 
Would look into br9es...put spark right on top of piston dome...may not be good...I run ONLY br9eCs
 
I picked up some BR9ES from Dennis Kirk for $2.60 each ( I live just miles away from their warehouse) I've seen them as low as 1.99 at other places at times so 1.99 is a good deal. My PWC uses the same plug.
 
Pretty sure the br9ecs is the same as the br9es except the ecs is supposed to run hotter and not foul out i believe... I heard of a lot of people who run just br9es and never had problems but I run the ecs just to be safe!
 
the plugs are the same temp, i believe the 9 in the model number of the plug is the temp. the "C" in the ECS means Conical i think. you'll notice its rounded at the base versus square on the ES.
 
I have both the es & ecs here in the garage the ecs electrode sit a few mm higher inside the plug as where the es is lowere and more exposed.
 
br9es...2.19, br9ecs 6.20 ea at Auto Value parts stores. YES there is a difference between the ES ans ECS. The ES electrode protrudes past the base of the plug...hence the ground strap sits higher this causes the plug to be "longer" in the cylinder. The ECS has an electrode that sits flush with the base and the ground strap is shorter as a result causing the plug to not protrude as deep into the cylinder. Remember that the plug fires almost at TDC so the longer electrode moves the entire spark closer to the prescious dome of your piston increasing your chance of arcing to the dome and destroying your investment...save a few dollars and then spend a few thousand? NO NOT ME
 
On my 02 viper right on the belt shield it says BR9ES so thats what I've always used, I use them because thats what was recommended, not to save a few bucks. Maybe SRX is different?
 
i put in the fine wire plugs in mine new . changed them out at about 9,000 mi . so at 10,060 mile im on my second set of plugs :jump:
