After stabilizing the fuel, running it nearly dry, fogging the engine, and letting it sit all summer all it took was $10 worth of fresh fuel, 40 pulls and a "little" hit of starting fluid and she was back to life. Better than ever.

What's That Knocking Sound????
Just put a shot of premix down the plug holes!!! Only take 1 or 2 pulls!! No need for starting fluid!!

That would be the loud *** Bender can that you sold me. lol. Also I took it out for a rip around my yard and the "clunk clunk" is GONE. It was the belt after all.

I know that premix is the better option but I didn`t have any gas/oil on hand so had to settle for starting fluid.

I pull off the gas cap and blow into it, starts in like 5 pulls or so. just got both my viper and the wifes sxr started that way, works great

I am basically priming it, forces gas into the carbs and pow, it fires. and yes, I am SUPREMELY talented. ![Smile :) :)](https://totallyamaha.net/images/smilies/smile.png)

starting fluid will dry things out because it does not contain any lubricants like a gas/oil mixture obviously does

Don't use much. Starting fluid basicly washes ALL the oil off the cylinders and pistons. The new stuff has a little lube in it but it still is no replacement for 2 stroke oil !
P.S. When I use this stuff I spray it through the Airbox, not down the plug hole directly onto the piston. Not that I'm indorsing using starting fluid with 2-Stroke engines either way, but I think spraying it through the airbox is the safer way to go about it.

I keep a squeeze bottle with some premix in the shop. Use it on all kinds of small engines on the farm not just sleds. Makes it easy to put a little squirt without too much mess.
