Trying to remove the clutch sheave off my vintage 74 sm292f pulled the clutch bolt and the outer sheave comes off with a bearing that the belt spins on but now I need to know what it takes to get the outer sheave off. Thanks

Does it have a long shaft with splines? If so the inner sheave is tapered. Mine just took one short not too hard of a whack with a hammer. There is a special puller that attaches to the inner sheave with three small bolts, but where you would get one I don't know. I've never used a puller but you have to be carfull not to hit too hard. You could easily bend the crank.mtnmaxman600 said:Trying to remove the clutch sheave off my vintage 74 sm292f pulled the clutch bolt and the outer sheave comes off with a bearing that the belt spins on but now I need to know what it takes to get the outer sheave off. It does have the long splines but they are also threaded on the inside for what would appear to be threads for a puller similar to the newer clutches. The threads are 14mm.
