track studding?

I have a 2002 yamaha vmax 700. Track appears to be in good shape no lug tears or tears in geneal, but i did have some outside studs come out , what is the best thing for me to do with these holes now since track is in good shape and I would like to keep it that way, I drive mainly trails I'm not a crazy driver and never race but don't baby things the entire time either, Thanks.
 
Use a torch and burn the edges of the tears so the internal fibers are burned off and the rubber around the edge is melted slightly. shouldn't be a problem after that.

should I do this either way cause the track doesn't even appear to show any tears the studs appear to have pulled through the track and didn't damage the holes. maybe stretched big enough for the stud to just pull through but no signs of a tear.
 
Up to you but i dont run studs on outside. Too hard on the track. What you just described is what happens to often. Last sled i bought i just took all outside studs out and melted the cords to keep from fraying like mills said. never a problem since. CCC
 
If you like traction, studding the outside is the best. That's why those studs are torn & wore down more often, that is where they are biting the hardest.

It depends on the brand/ quality of the track, and whether the sled is beat on in marginal snow conditions in my experience.

96 up the middle will more than do it for all but the most demanding riders.
I put 108 in a V up the middle on my 136" venture, which is the same amount on a short tracked 121" sled with 96 studs. It works great.
