Do a search here last time I did it I found a way to strap the shock and take some preasure out.....An extra set of hand is always helpful.
Personally I never unbolt my rods, always front shock then back one then middle....
Oh yeah don't forget to have a beer if it gets to hard...It seems to me that the more beers you drink the easier it gets....

I know this is in the tech pages, back off the 14mm bolt on the bottom of the transfer rods, bolt up front bolts, rear bolts, then center. Tighten up the transfer rod bolts and your done. Loosening the transfer rod bolts removes the rear shock preload, no need to hurt yourself or the suspension trying to strap the rear shock!
I installed my SXR skid alone today in 18 minutes.
Lift rear and support by hoist
Spray fogging oil on inside of track, allows skid to slide in real easy
Slide in skid, make sure the axle is loosed up all the way, retighen real axle bolt
Once skid is slid into place, lower hoist down to align front mounts
Tighten front mounts
Raise rear of sled with hoist
Raise rear of skid / track, place 4X4 under rear of skid
Install center bolts
lower body to align rear bolts
Tighten all bolts as needed
Adjust track tension as needed.
I guess I install front, center and then rear bolts. On all of the sleds I have never had to remove the tranfer rods, no problems ever.

Alswagg, I never take out the transfer rods, just loosen up the 14mm bolt at the bottom of the rod. I also do not loosen up the rear axle, so I dont have to re-adjust the track when I am done. Approx install time is running about 10 min for me right now. Mtn Apex install is 4 min or so (gotta like the newer skids)

Engine hoist on the back, drift punch, and prybars. try different levels of lift from the back and pry the shaft into place. it may take a little bit, and its a whole lot easier if you have a second set of hands.

I take the transfer rod bolts all the way out. Front bolts first, then backs, then middles.
