I have a 600 twin engine I bought last spring that i am installing in my 600SX after a ring caught the exhaust port. The engine I bought has what looks to be a ground wire coming off the top water pump housing. My previous engine did not have this wire. I am a little confused why was this on there and if it is then if it where should it be connected to. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Silver Bullet

is it just an eye loop??? ........might have been an easy place for grounding a headed shield set-up or A/M heated grips......

my 600 twin definately doesn't have a ground near the water pump......

After searching more!

Now after I searched some more, I think it may have been for an electric start. In the installation instructions for a 600 twin liquid cooled electric start it mentions to:"Connect one end of the black lead to the water pump cover bolt".

I'm going to remove it - Thanks

Silver Bullet.
