after finally getting my sled to run, i ran into another problem, dont get me wrong, the sled rips, only for about 2 min tho. then it dies down and idles around 3000rpm. and bogs when u give it idle. to me, it seems like electrical but what do i know. i have the kill switch unplugged bc it wudnt run with it plugged in. i also cut and extended all my wires to the handlebars. and i have ngk spark plug wires

I have a 2000 yamaha sxr600 and it will randomly just go to idle like yours and it wont go over 3000rpm unless i let it go all the way to idle. After that it will go past 3000rpm. if it is an electrical problem, i would like to know how to fix that.
Some suggestions:
-bypass tors
-check/replace spark plug caps
-check/replace stator
-check/replace coils
-check/replace CDI

Bypass the TORS first, kinda sound like the switch could be acting up. If that doesn't clear it up then go down the list that Sideshowbob has.

I took mine on the trails tonight and it only went down to 3000rpm twice. idk if it would be electrical for that to happen

i fixed it. my kill switch is disconnected right. theres three prongs in the plug in for it. i started my sled up and figured out which two prongs can be connected and still run with a peice of wire. after finding out which two. i just took a peice of wire and connected the two and it runs like a champ now.
