I am going to drop some bigger rivets into the weights on my friends 97 because he has a bad overrev issue. It is running 9100 rpm with everything stock except the can. I was looking over the stock setups in the tech section and noticed they changed to a heavier rivet and a smaller roller the next year which would have dropped rpm a lot. I am not going to change the roller from the 15mm it has now, but I figured this was a common problem for the 97's. I searched the forums for similiar cases but no luck. it currently has the 2.4g rivet in the inner hole and I was going to load it with the 3.1g to see what happens unless someone on hear has "the formula" to make it spot on without me having to guess.

3.6 gram inner rivet & 3.1 gram outer will get you close.

Thanks Turk, I have my buddy buying a new belt so we can run it and make sure it is still at 9100rpm. If it is I will get those rivets and go from there.

I have 4.5 grams in both holes, on primary and a Maxximum roller secondary with a 54/44 helix, green spring wrapped @ 60 or 70 and it holds 8300 real nice.

Update

So I just wanted to put this info in this thread incase someone else comes looking for this info...I ended up loading the 8CH weights with 4.5gram rivets both inner and outer. I then verified wrap at 60 deg and with a green spring. The clutching is stock except for the added rivets and the sled is now pulling at 8600rpm vs. the 9200 it was at. I figure this will at least keep him out of the danger zone of burning down his sled. In order to continue to keep moving to the optimal 8300rpm I would have to either add a heavier weight or go down to a 14.5roller vs. the 15mm that is has stock. Thanks for the input guys.
