Recently bought a 96 Vmax 600 as my first sled, and getting started on some suggested general beginning of the year maintenance. I was going to try and change the chain case oil and couldn’t find a drain plug. Someone at work mentioned to me that there may not be one and that I would have to take the case apart to drain it. I didn’t get an owner’s manual with it, so I was wondering if anyone could help me out confirming if this is the case or not, and if it is if you have any pointers or suggestions? Any other general ideas or hints are also greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

I started out with 96 Vmax600xt. Lots of good info here on there site. A good carb cleaning, changing of the chain case fluid, reed inspection, clutch inspection, etc will all help. My twin was tough on clutch weights. Can't recall on the drain but when you pull the cover off you get a chance to look at the condition of everything inside the chain case, which is a good thing. How's the belt look? I know mine liked belts too. Check the hyfax, bogies/bearings, etc.

If its like my 96XT the bottom bolt on the front of the case is the drain. Then right above that about in the middle of the case is a bolt by itself. Take that out when filling and when it comes out that hole it is full. Just over 8.5 OZ CCC
