01 Sxr Temp Light Fashes 3 Xs

didnt run the sled yet this year cleaned the carbs and started it. now the temp light flashes 3 times when running. did i forget 2 plug something in ? pluged the throttle sensor in. any ideas ? its my buddies sled. also the reverse beeper doesnt sound is there a fuse 4 that. it doesnt have any power going through the switch.

Discontinuity or shorting of the water temperature sensor is detected. (according to the srx manual)

Plug the coolant temp sensor back in....

temp sensor is plugged in anybody have the spec to ohm out sensor ?

Again from the SRX manual... 0.29 ~ 0.35 kΩ at 80°C (176°F) 0.17 ~ 0.21 kΩ at 100°C (212°F)

mine did the same thing.... I found cracks in the wire insulation just behind the molex connector for the temp sensor.....

I had a similar issue but my wire was fully broken which resulted in eight flashes. Since the wire broke off right at the plug and I couldn't locate a plug/pin assembly, I soldered on a small Radio Shack pin with some heat shrink tubing. Drilled out the existing plug and ran the pin/wire through it. This keeps it fairly watertight and prevents the wire from wiggling around.
