Is it stock track ? 98 came with .75". 1999 came with .92".Otherwise measure total thickness of track and let me know.
Total thickness 1.05" give or take

Sounds like you have the stock .75" lug track.Because most track thickness's are about 1/4".So you want a 1" stud.
I am thinking about running 168 studs

You can do any # from 96-192 all depends on how much traction you want.Personally i would save my money and get a bigger lug track say a 1" and stud that.Those .75" werent very good in snow.And usually cracked at the base of the lug.I would check the condition of it first.
