yamaha viper revving up to 10000 rpm???

hey guys. havent been out riding yet but was running my sled on the stand and noticed it was revving all the way up to 10000 rpms> was wondering if this is normal with no load on it or i have some problem happening with it. one of buddys asked if i had the secondary apart but no i havent> thanks chris
 
DO NOT RUN YOUR SLED MOTOR TO 10,000 rpm on a stand.If that track ever let go and if someone is behind the sled..they are dead..or at least lose 2 legs.Some people have had there overhead doors being takin down and bent right in while reving the track on the stand.VERY VERY DANGEROUS thing to do.

thanks man had no idea. that makes sence now cause it had no load thats why it went so high
 
Did you even have the belt on? If you did that is very dangerous..... If belt was off you could have blown your clutch apart.....
 
if your sled is on the stand running 10000, it could be due to the fact that there is no load on the motor, so it is revving out at 10000 rpms, i wouldn't keep doin this as it is dangerous, you can run it across the field and find out what the rpm's are
 
first time I have heard a 2 stroke sled motor going 10,000 rpms..A few more minutes of that and there would of been pieces flying everywhere thru the gaurd and hood and thru you even....dangerous man!!!!

At 10,000 rpm no load the clutches would have been in complete overdrive, speedo would have been buried. Again why. You might now want to check the hyfax for excessive wear and transfer to the track clips. Al
