Changing Track Tomorrow on my SRX

Started on mine last night. It's been a pain in the *** compared to the Polaris sleds I've owned. Give yourself 4 hours the first time on these.
 
its not too bad,
A)simply remove rear skidframe,
B)then drain chaincase.
C)remove secondary clutch while chaincase is draining.
D)remove speedo drive assmebly from under sec. clutch, on the driveshaft inside tunnel youll see 2 torx locking screws on bearing remove those
E) pop out bearing
F)go to chaincase side of sled and remove 2 bolts for brake caliper, remove upper nut and lower bolt, remove chain and gears,
remove mounting bolts for chaincase to frame, then pull the whole chaincase along with the brake rotor off the jackshaft and drive shaft
G)
DO NOT remove the parking brake,leave it alone, it will come off far enough still attached.

be sure to note the spacers from behind the gears and behind the chaincase and the brake rotor keyway in jackshaft.
 
first time for me was like 2 days in and out.Mind you I did it on a hot 30 + day in July and was just #$%&* to no end.Second time around maybe half that time.
 
Mrviper, why so you need to remove that bearing before the driveshaft comes out? With the chaincase off I don't see a reason to remove that bearing before the shaft is removed

remove chain case then track drive will slide towards chain case side of sled after bearing behind speedo drive is removed, sometimes bearing is still stuck on shaft after removing the two t-20 tourq screws, i use and a automotive tie rod puller to get it off , you do need to put a 3/8" nut over speedo drive hole so dont ram puller into it

the brake rotor is not just going to jump off the jackshaft, you will see the chain case is loose but the rotor will be hung up on the e-brake, if you get carried away prying the case off you will bend the rotor, tap base of rotor with wood dowel or somthing soft so will not mar base of rotor

one other thing i dont split the silencer from the pipes, take them out as one

I want to thank you all for the tips. I started it this afternoon hour and a half had it out. It went really smooth!!!! Thanks again guys heading out to put the new one in.
