Hey folks,

the last time i was here you guys helped me with my clutch problems and thanks it worked. But now the dawm thing keeps freezing at the intake, for some reason condensation keeps building in the air box and it cause ice buid up right at the intake by the air needle hole. any suggestions on out to get rid of the problem.

there are 3 different foam pieces that should be on that sled. there should be one on top of the airbox, one under the forward portion of the dash panel/headlight shroud and the other that always liked to fall out located where the tank met the hood. if any of these are missing, you may be ingesting too much snow/moisture into the airbox. careful here as the snow ingestion can cause a burn down.

Thanks for th info , all my foams are in place it looks to me more like the condensation builds up on the walls of the air box and not from snow comming in.

i remember my vmaxes from that vintage had block off plates for the front and side/top hood vents that i would use on extreme cold days or fluffy powder conditions. would you have these installed by any chance? is it condensing while riding or after sitting? sounds like an airflow issue or extreme humidity in your area. maybe a light under the hood or some other means to dry it out good?

no i dont have any of these plates on mine and here the air is dry (est central Alberta) i wonder if i should take that air box off and put on some cones

personally i would try to find the underlying problem, but i am not a big fan of seperate filters for trail sleds. good for drags, but not everyday riding. you will open up a can of worms going that route.

thanks for the advice, i had a foam to the top of the air boxe maybe the other one was wore out a bit to much, i will let the sled sleep in the shop tomorow to make sure that it is dry all over maybe this will help
