The screws on the bottom of the Mikuni TM Flat Slide carbs that we have on our SRXs, Vipers as well as SXs + VMAX4s are "fuel screws" unlike the Mikuni Round Slide carbs that have an "air screw". The more you open the fuel screw the richer the fuel mixture becomes from idle up to approx 1/4 throttle.
You can find all your stock carb specs and settings in the tech section.
When you clean your carbs compare the pilot and main jets with the standard specs as some 2000 SRX owners were changing to the 2001 SRX jetting specs.
The standard fuel screw spec for the 2000 SRX is 1 1/8 turn open with a 42.5 pilot jet.
