Nicko said:I always run the higher octane I can get, and yes its a carb issue (plug/dirty jets). I am pretty anal about my sleds, I will clean before I go for another ride. Carb cleaning, grease skid, bearings, clutch cleaning and chaincase oil is on my bible. Never go riding without that kidn of maintance....JMO

Yea I always make sure everything is good, but its been a while since ive worked on a sled ( about 10 yrs ) SO my checklist is a little rusty..
But the one you listed is a great start.. As for antifreeze, Ive seen multiple debates on standard prestone, ethylene glycol vs. propylene glycol vs dexcool,
Im guessing regular prestone is fine?

Well just so you know...if you run it lean you might end up with engine failure. It a shame seeing someone lost there engine because of dirty carbs or bad gas. Especially when they know there is a problem......I don't ride unless my sled is 100% ready...having problems on the trail is not cool at all....

Its not running lean ( judging by the plugs ) they are a little wet and look good.. 120 psi on all cylinders, but like I said ( and you said ) I want my stuff to run top notch, so Itll get a little rest in the garage for the rest of the weekend
I did not want it to say anything but yes, I wouldn't run it till you make sure the carbs are squiky clean.
BTW Nice vid, that looks like the luce line....Where is it...?

its just the trail thats 2 blocks from my house.. , about a block down the dirt road, a block down the power lines and there it is.. Awesome trail, not groomed but it has a ton of snow on it..
Its right off of county road C South of Superior WI, almost in South Range
Bringing the sled to the shop tomorrow to have a pro check it all over. What kind of checklist should I have. So far
Check plugs and heatrange
Adjust clutch and install new yamaha belt
Adjust rear suspension
Check chain case
Clean carbs and jets
I just need a good tune up i think due to the sputter at lower rpms as you can see in the vid
