93 Exciter SX - trying to pull carbs.


Under part number 5 there is a bolt that holds the air box down. I believe you can leave the 'bib' on, but it's been a few years since I had my SX.

Yup, As Chief says. I've never had an SX but have played with many Exciters. I've found that removing the bolts/screws for the bib helps gain some room but removal is unessessary. Belt guard, belt and secondary clutch need to go to get the airbox out. If the SX is like the other Exciters you also need to remove the intake tube that is on the right side of the airbox. Cables, clamps, etc and a little fenagling and you can worm it out of there through where the secondary clutch area. Once you've done it a couple times it becomes fairly easy.
