tim 500 vmax sx

i just got a 99 vmax 500 sx i bought it out of storage . it has bee stored for the past 7 years it only has 900 miles on it .i have cleaned and soaked the carb everyday for the past 10 days and can not get the low and mid range miss out of it . when you get to 45 to 50 mph it comes alive and runs smoth .i put my flatslide off my 93 exiter sx on it and the mis is gone .can anyone tell me were the blockage in the carb is most likely located . or do i perhaps have a defective casting on 1 or both carbs . any help would be greatly apriciated .

Hi tim, welcome to the site. If you scroll down their is a place for vmax threads. Will get better response this way. As for the carbs are you taking the jets out and cleaning. Sometimes a little piece of wire run through them helps that stuborn blockage. If sitting that long with gas in it i bet it was really gummed up. Also check throttle tension and torrs. Doubt their is any defect in carb. Start with carbs again and use air and cleaner. Make sure your getting that cleaner through all the little passages.
