Why is it at races, when an 800 zr bored out to a 1010, beats a stk 700 SRX they think they really got something? We have work done to it but it still go on the trail as well. That is something to be proud of if your a Cat fan huh?

my 04 f7 is quicker then my 02 srx

youre SRX must not be running right or the 3 F7's i spanked with my 01 SRX were running like crap. ive yet to be beat accross a feild by anything with less than 800 CC. i can outrun my buddys 800 XP if i get a good hole shot. hell my father in laws F1000 only beat me by a sled length last time we raced. cat guys are funny, he thought he could beat me with his old ZR 500 and he would try every time we were out and than he would cry every time after i handed him his backside, now that he has 500 more CC's, 300 more than me, and he can finally beat me he thinks hes a bad ***. lol at least i know i wont be rebuilding mine every 1000 miles or so. ha ha

We were running 500 ft drags, and these guys were running good, thid guy has f=7 and zr 8 with big bore, he hasn't beat us in bout 6yrs now, the f-7's are no match in 500ft at all. We were giving them prob.50lbs just in rider weight, let alone sled difference. These were the premier 03 cats as well, the fastest from what we are told, just wait til I get my srx back with the Mr. Viper motor in it, then they'll shit

lol i hope u guys are right about these yamaha tripples. lol if i can walk a f7 in 600ft with my piped viper and ty help of clutching i will be a happy man!!!

in my experience you need a well maintained HEALTHY sled to walk an f7

i kill one of the f7's we ride with but last year the end of the year i raced one 2 times he beat me and i beat him then a blizzard came through... until next time hopefully by then i figure this clutching thing out

WE DID A SHOOTOUT AT BUDDIES DEC 12 th. WE CALLED IT A OPEN STOCK CLASS. I ENTERED MY 2000 SRX AND MY 1995 VMAX 4 800. WE CALLED IT DOUBLE ELIMANATION. 3/4 RACES WE HAD TO GO TO VIDEO REPLAY BETWEEN MY TWO SLEDS AND A GUY WITH A 2000 1000 CC THUNDER CAT. THIS GUY WAS HANGING ON TO HIS *** BECAUSE I NEVER BEAT HIM, BUT HE WAS IN FOR A RUN EVERY TIME WE RACED HIM. SO NO THIS GUY RAN WITH HIS TAIL BETWEEN HIS LEGS AND GAVE ME NONE OF THAT CRAP. 3:16 (yammie tony)

I may be wrong but I don't think that a "piped" viper will beat an F7. F7's and SRX's are both awesome sleds, IMO, with equal riders whoever has the better maintained sled will win. Either way, even if I do lose to an F7 it doesn't hurt my feelings. They are a very respectable sled and at least I got beat by something good. If I got beat by a 600 ski doo or something than I would be stressing and trying to figure out how to get more power out of my sled.

Hi Wayne084, let me just say this, a triple piped viper will be right around 150hp, it weighs less then a srx and has a 10hp advantage, you do the math and then figure the result. We are talking good set up as far as clutching, gearing, track etc for both a srx and a viper to make it apples to apples. The triple piped viper if set up is a force to be reckoned with! ;)!

My stock 03 viper goes neck and neck with a buddies stock 06 f7 efi with sno pro track (1 3/4 " ) until about 95 mph I can barely pull away, but he has probably 40 pounds on me. (no idea of weight difference of sleds) They are quick. 2010 ski doo renegade 600 etec beat a mach z ( shitty 08 twin) the same weekend but wouldn't touch my viper. Probably had 8 lengths on the etec

You must be running the slowest F7s around. When they are running like they should they give an SRX all it can handle. A stock Viper has no shot at all against any year F7 it would be closer to an F6. And how could you say a 600 beat a Mach Z it would never happen, unless the Mach was running on one cylinder. And another thing there is no such thing as a 08 Mach Z. They never made it. I have both a 02 SRX and a Mach Z and a Thundercat. And in stock form the Mach is the fastest followed by the tcat then the srx comes in last. Just stating the facts here.

I agree, all the f7's I have raced have ran pretty good, they are quick and light. have beaten alot of them, I still tell people it all comes down to set up with the srx/f7 dilemma. On sanctioned racing, forget it, the weight break rule for the twin vs triple is complete bullcrap and thats why you dont see people racing the srx anymore in sanctioned racing against f7's. Its like tying one hand behind your back going into a wrestling match. backyrd racing is a differnt story.

hey, the srx also has the smallest engine of the 3 sleds you own,,,and its not that far behind either.....lol ;)! its only a little 700!

what is the weight break rule? im just wondering why in sanctioned events the srx is out?

My Viper is deadly in the grass but since I swapped the no action out with the M10 I just simply can't get ttraction in the snow !! The noaction had aftermarket transfer rods on it, maybe that helped ? A real fast stock sleeper was mt wife's 02 Skidoo legend. Had the 600 HO motor in it and weighed almost nothing compared to my vip. I sacrificed arm snapping transfer with air soft trailability !!

That's pretty impressive, You might have just stopped me from ending up with an F7 as my next sled (with 2 strokes unfortunately no longer available from Yamaha). I didn't know they gained that much more hp from the pipes. Maybe I'll keep my eyes open for a Viper when it comes time to get something a little newer, that's a pretty cost efficient hp gain.

HERE IS A FUNNY ONE FOR YA, WE DID SOME FIELD RACING YESTURDAY HERE BECAUSE ALOT OF GUYS ARE OFF THIS WEEK FOR THE HOLIDAYS AND WE HAVE SOME PRETTY DECENT SNOW STILL. THE PLAYERS YESTURDAY WERE 4 XP800r,s, 2 F1000,s AND 2 F-7,s (i know 1 was a 03). HERE I AM WITH MY 2002 SRX. WELL MY RACING DAYS DWINDLEING DOWN (bad knee, hip, back etc ) MY 139 POUND NEIGHBOR BEEN SHOEING MY SLEDS NOW, JUMPS ON MY SRX AND DRIVES AWAY FROM THE FIELD. CLOSEST TO MY SLED WAS THE 2003 F- CAT, HAD HIM BY ABOUT A SLED 1/2 THE REST WERE BACK AT TWO OR MORE. REALLY HARD TO FIGURE THIS XP CRAZE, THOSE THINGS ARE SLOW IN THE REAL WORLD. THIS IS SRX WITH MY 8BU-10 SET-UP. VERY LONG WINDED. AND ALSO I SEEN SOME VERY FAST PIPED VIPERS, VERY CAPABLE OF TAKING A F-CAT. 3:16 (yammie tony)

I love riding my viper on the river but i don't think it'll ever see the UP ever again. maybe across the lake in curtis. the xp craze is all about being able to ride trails all day regardless of conditions without killing your body. my viper is my hotrod(especially when her put together with those aaen's) but my 800xp is my daily driver.
