Why is it at races, when an 800 zr bored out to a 1010, beats a stk 700 SRX they think they really got something? We have work done to it but it still go on the trail as well. That is something to be proud of if your a Cat fan huh?

in my experience you need a well maintained HEALTHY sled to walk an f7ridergonwild5692 said:lol i hope u guys are right about these yamaha tripples. lol if i can walk a f7 in 600ft with my piped viper and ty help of clutching i will be a happy man!!!
Wayne084 said:I may be wrong but I don't think that a "piped" viper will beat an F7. F7's and SRX's are both awesome sleds, IMO, with equal riders whoever has the better maintained sled will win. Either way, even if I do lose to an F7 it doesn't hurt my feelings. They are a very respectable sled and at least I got beat by something good. If I got beat by a 600 ski doo or something than I would be stressing and trying to figure out how to get more power out of my sled.
MachZ1000 said:You must be running the slowest F7s around. When they are running like they should they give an SRX all it can handle. A stock Viper has no shot at all against any year F7 it would be closer to an F6. And how could you say a 600 beat a Mach Z it would never happen, unless the Mach was running on one cylinder. And another thing there is no such thing as a 08 Mach Z. They never made it. I have both a 02 SRX and a Mach Z and a Thundercat. And in stock form the Mach is the fastest followed by the tcat then the srx comes in last. Just stating the facts here.
what is the weight break rule? im just wondering why in sanctioned events the srx is out?mrviper700 said:I agree, all the f7's I have raced have ran pretty good, they are quick and light. have beaten alot of them, I still tell people it all comes down to set up with the srx/f7 dilemma. On sanctioned racing, forget it, the weight break rule for the twin vs triple is complete bullcrap and thats why you dont see people racing the srx anymore in sanctioned racing against f7's. Its like tying one hand behind your back going into a wrestling match. backyrd racing is a differnt story.
hey, the srx also has the smallest engine of the 3 sleds you own,,,and its not that far behind either.....lolits only a little 700!
mrviper700 said:Hi Wayne084, let me just say this, a triple piped viper will be right around 150hp, it weighs less then a srx and has a 10hp advantage, you do the math and then figure the result. We are talking good set up as far as clutching, gearing, track etc for both a srx and a viper to make it apples to apples. The triple piped viper if set up is a force to be reckoned with!![]()

WELL MY RACING DAYS DWINDLEING DOWN (bad knee, hip, back etc ) MY 139 POUND NEIGHBOR BEEN SHOEING MY SLEDS NOW, JUMPS ON MY SRX AND DRIVES AWAY FROM THE FIELD. CLOSEST TO MY SLED WAS THE 2003 F- CAT, HAD HIM BY ABOUT A SLED 1/2 THE REST WERE BACK AT TWO OR MORE. REALLY HARD TO FIGURE THIS XP CRAZE, THOSE THINGS ARE SLOW IN THE REAL WORLD. THIS IS SRX WITH MY 8BU-10 SET-UP. VERY LONG WINDED. AND ALSO I SEEN SOME VERY FAST PIPED VIPERS, VERY CAPABLE OF TAKING A F-CAT. 3:16 (yammie tony)
