I have a '97 SX 700, I bought it new. When I had it less than a year, I bought a Bender silencer and a Bender clutch kit. A buddy installed the clutch kit. The sled has always run very well and I have never touched the clutches since. I was recently looking at Turk's clutching recommendations and was thinking about trying it, but I have no idea what Bender's clutch kit specs are. I think Bender's kits come with different weights and I no longer have the original weights. My gearing and driver is stock.

Three years ago a piece of the recoil cup let go and exploded the case at the recoil end. I rebuilt the top end with a used case at 6,000 miles. I also used the new style starter cup. I now have 7,200 miles on the sled. I read that aftermarket silencers cause an over rev which is why the starter cups let go.

I just wonder if it's worth the effort and cost to switch to Turk's setup? On the other hand, it is overrevving judging by the starter cup issue. It's hard to imaging the sled running better than it does, but: What should I do?
