I have a 2000 yamaha SX700R and had a piston meltdown last year. It has since been repaired by a reputable dealer in the area. This happened toward the end of the season last year, so this is the first chance I have had to run it. I noticed that the sled idles a little high. I adjusted the idle screw and it sounded better at idle, but as soon as I gave the throttle a stab the RPM's went up to the point of engagement and wouldn't come back down. So far I have read that this is "idle hang". What is the proper way to fix it? Any advice would be welcomed. I would take it back to the dealer, but funds are limited.
Fuel Screws
Turn them out 1/2 a turn.
