So I have 2 '98 Vmax's, never touched the shocks in either one. I see alot of talk about getting them rebuilt every year or two... Are people really doing this??? Seems like a lot of coin?!?
Anyway, since it'll be 13 years of riding on them after this year, it should probably be done at this point... Anyone know of a good place around the northern suburbs of Mpls or up around Brainerd to get this done?
Thanks!
Mike

If they have never been done its time! With that said I just had my front kyb's done with probably 7-8000 miles of hard riding and the rebuilder said they looked great with the oil being a little dirty.Kyb's are a quality shock and my rebuilder said he rarely puts seals in these kind of shock with there quality and tolerances being so good.I don't know of a good shock guy in your area, but I sent mine to Pioneer Performance in New York and the shipping wasn't that bad.He also has some excellent revalving specs for these shocks and you'd notice a huge difference in ride and handling from not only a fresh rebuild, but the revalve as well.
I used this guy a couple years ago. Not sure if he is still around, but he did a good job for me on my Ohlins. Think he was out of White Cloud, Minnesota.
