Just got back from the UP. Trails were crap but we did find a very nice hard packed road to ride on for a few miles. Conditions on the road were great for some speed checks.
On the sled gauges my little 2002 SX600R with this fat old man on it ran 110 MPH at 8500 RPM. Sled did everything great for the 2 days we were there. I really like this sled.
Trails were bad but the only sled to go down was a cat. RF shock came loose at the bottom and spit the spring half off and wedged it into the ski. Guy riding it said he was not able to turn right when if failed but got it stopped before running off the trail.

The clutch was just rebuilt to a stock set up as Yamaha made it from the factory. I was having over-rev problems last year and took it to Hackers Yamaha in Houghton Lake. When they found worn clutch parts I asked them to rebuild it to stock specifications.
I believe the conditions on the hard packed road were ideal for top speed. The sled really seemed to roll nice and clean. I tried another speed run later on a softer surface with a bit more snow and only got to just under 100.
Again this is on the sleds gauges that have never been checked for accuracy. At least not by me.
