tried my viper tonight 8bu10s only 8100

196 chisels bender pipes ported carbs board bender 23 cc. head. Thing pulls hard pulls skies up on ice and stays at 8100 8200. Stays at 8100 8200. Do I have to change rivets or can i get away with heavier spring? Cant weight to see how it pulls at 8500 8600.
 

BENDER TRIPLE PIPES ? YA GET THIS UP TO ATLEAST 8600 OR HIGHER. TAKE TIP RIVET OUT DROP DOWN TO NEXT SIZE FROM WHERE YOUR AT. YOU DID NOT POST WHAT HELIX. 3:16 (yammie tony)
 
49 45 bender with orangish red spring bender told me it was a cat spring. Also have a 54 44 helix not in sled. Total weight of of weights are 58.5 steel rivet in tip not sure size and small lead. In bottom very small just fills hole.
 
Thanks, This sled pulls cant wait to get rpms right. Had 2001 srx guy told me this viper would never come close. Ill tell this thing pulls going 65 70 and clamp it. ski would come right up. It was coming out of hole nice to.

agree with ^^^^^^^^^^^^ take off around total of 4 ishhh gram ..i think viper like higher rpm with pipe

then it will be try and error but i would remove from tip...i think u have almost nothing in middle hole so take it off from tip..put them on a scale and put them around total of 53 gram
 
BEST RESULTS. TIP. I HAVE TO TELL YA, YOU THINK THAT SLED FELT GOOD NOW, YOUR OFF BY A MILE. THOSE PIPES WANT TO RUN CLOSE TO 9000. THAT SRX BETTER BE FAST. 3:16 (yammie tony)
 
someday ill try those 8bu-10 to see it they are really faster than other weight at top end lollllllll...did many test with other weight and i'm stock at 120 121 mph on the dreamometer
 
Dont know how they are top end. Didnt clamp it across lake. Have it slammed down to ground and there was some bumps on lake. But man did it pull hard only turning 8100 8200.

i'm pretty sure they are wayyyyyyy better than 8dn wait till u hit the right rpm u will put a smile in your face

he is probably trying to tune the 8bu at the right rpm
 
I am going to run this sled 1000ft on ice. Should i run stock gear? This motor is brand new should i brake it in a little before go changing it to much?

yes...maybe tony got a better idea but i think your gonna be out of gear before 1000 feet .... are u running the stock secondary spring red?
 
Its a cat spring some one told me at bender. They told me they cant get them any more. Its not off set at all where it goes into helix or clutch. Hard to get it wound.
