anybody out there have a m10installed using thestock front mounting location? talked to a couple of people and said to use the front shaft from a rx1. much easier to install. what do you guys think.i love my srx but my back doesnt. thanks guys

Never heard of the RX-1 front shaft install but I can tell you a few things from my experience. I love the ride, you will sacrifice some traction ( only if your planning on racing it) you will need to raise the front shocks as well. Hope this helps. There are several skid options you can swap in your sled. Just about anything is a better ride than the proaction thats in there now ! My wife had a Doo with the SC10III skid in it and that rode nice as well.

from what i here the M10 will ride and preform the same in the stock proaction hole. the difference is that it is a better place to mount and faster to install. you will still have to match the front of the sled to the ride of the back.

I have installed 3 M10's in SRX's. I did not use the M10 kit with 2 of the installs. I used the front mounting holes and had to make new rear holes. Had to have the shafts cut to length.
Best mod you will ever do. Once installed adjust it soft, so you occasionally bottom out when riding hard. It has a big secondary bottoming out spring, so you won't hurt the skid. I removed the front strap too.

I did the regular M10 install since the skid I bought came with the full Yammi mounting kit. It included the thick 2-bolt bar on each side of the front arm, and 2 tunnel reinforcement plates that mount along each side of the tunnel, and extend from the front mount to the rear mount and uses like 12-14 rivets on each side. Are these tunnel reinforcement plates overkill? Note: My M10 was a older Metric version....
I never paid attention to where the front arm pivot point is relative to the original front hole.....hmmm. Stock hole sure would have made the install easier !!!!

That leads me to a question I have been wondering about. Does FAST have a good rear skid currently that doesn't lose top speed or acceleration?

I doubt it as fast is still using there original geometry just changed it up with various air shocks.I've run an 136" m-10 for 7-8000 miles and the top speed difference is minimal in my opinion if setup right.The bigger loss is in weight transfer and initial traction for holeshot, but this skid is amazing for aggressive riding on rough trails and will really corner well even on very rutted out corners!I've been kicking around putting a cobra track on hoping it would help with holeshot as the ripsaw I have is ok, but only hooks hard in certain snow conditions.Besides my ripsaw has a pile of miles on it anyways.I was just wondering recently if there is a skidframe that has good comfort like the m-10 and hooks up good too???journeyman said:

I have a M-10 in a Viper and love the ride...I just made it softer so i'm about to go give it a try...And SRX and Vipes are still fast M-10 or not..
I have had 2 M10's in the past, had an M10 on my APEX for 2 years, dropped 8mph on top end and I could feel the acceleration difference. Also had one on my VMAX4 and SRX with same results. If you set it up for hard mogul running and jumping you lose major weight transfer. I switched to a ZX2 amazing difference, no speed loss, rides as good as an M10 and has a seperate adjustment for weight transfer, really hooks up! Best suspension in my opinion. $1700 new

Bringing this subject up again, BETHEVIPER said I could use the rear suspension shaft and thrust washers from my pro-action, but has to be turned down in a lathe or something, he couldn't remember. Has anyone done this or just use the Fast RX-1 shaft. Also Rear mounting suggestions would be helpful. It's going in a 2004 Viper S.
