The best thing to do in this situation would be to split the case. No question about that. The thing you have working in your favor, from what I can see from all of your photos, is the piston skirt does not seem to be damaged. (I attached a pic of the piston I pulled out of my Viper last year to show you what could have happened.) If your crank is turning smoothly I would be tempted to simply visually verify there is not any foreign matter in the case and take a narrow nozzle tip and vacuum out that section of the case. Install a new (rebuilt) jug, new piston pin bearing, stock piston and rings and fire her up.
