ok heres my question i have a sxr600 and the one plug is coated in antifreeze so i pulled the head off and found out it was just a gasket (never overheated) but i noticed that my piston was over half metal showing and the rest black. It seems to run ok no hesitation or bog and im working on the fine tunning for plug color. But as of right now all plugs are black cause i went the wrong way with the cable adjustment. but anyway is it normal for the piston to be almost clean like that cause of a head leak? carbs where just cleaned last week and if anyone needs pics i cant take some if it will help

put some pics up to see, but if you have a coolent leak in the cylinder it will clean the piston, usually on the side of the leak.
Ok Ill Get Some Pics Tomorrow But I Did Do Some Research And Found Out Also Running It Rich Will Cause It To Run Lean But It Was Only Running Rich For 15mins Till I Tore It Down
yes if it burn antifreeze piston will become like a new top piston clean
good i like what im hearing sounds silly but rather have it be somthing i know what it is then to track down somthing im not shure ofmodsrx said:yes if it burn antifreeze piston will become like a new top piston clean
when i get it back together how long till the piston starts to change back in color i want to keep a eye on it just to make shure
i would hate to melt a piston exspecialy since im always telling skidoo and artic cat owners they need to buy a yamaha so they dont break down anymore lol
