Hey guys, I had a squeaky belt and was told to remove a washer from the back of the secondary. None of the bolts have wishes. Should I add some, what size arev they?
With new belt, then check off set and deflection if that is good, just let it wear in...... Make sure you have the correct belt...... Also clean clutches and belt.......
Hi whammy.. No the belt is not new, it is used. Off set and deflection looks good. I don't have a tool to do offset. The belt seems to be riding in the secondary correctly. Are the washers added for a worn belt or new belt?
The sliding sheave closes until it hits the end of the bolts. Adding washer thickness allows the sliding sheave to close further which raises the belt height when secondary is fully closed. Worn bolts effectively do the same thing.
Terminology can be confusing, so I thought I would add yet another way of saying it.
