Cant get clutch off 98 srx

Pump it full of grease, to the point where it is hard to get the puller in, stick the puller in, and turn, and then it should pop off.

yes yes it will make a grease hydrolic pressure +puller effect

Grease just the threads cuz you want all of the threads to bite while you are wrenching the puller in, and also make sure you got the OEM clutch holder cuz guys put bars between their clutches and crack their rams on the clutch, and dont be scared to put a pipe on the end of ratchet for extra leverage... this works...

I had the same issue.....added some bearing grease in there then screw the puller in.....and was all ready for a huge turn, and fell into my hood becasue the goddam thing popped right off...made a mess, but worked

You may compromise the crank seal.

FWIW - I stopped using an impact when I rattled the balance wieghts off a ski-doo flywheel years ago. Breaker bar w/4ft. cheater pipe extension and the proper clutch holding tool has worked on everything I've come across including some real SOBs. I've got to the point of wincing when applying so much force on the 4 ft. bar and I'm not sure it's because of the anticipated bang that I know is coming or because it just aint normal cranking on a 4 ft. bar on a snowmobile.

This is a little trick I learn from a friend and it seems to take them off really easily.

I change clutches back and forth for 2000' and 7000'. I always use heat but the clutch probably does not get hotter than it does when operating. The crank starts out cold so it gets very little heat. Clutch comes off pretty easy.
