It is generally agreed upon that the 2000-2002 srx700's are faster than a 98 or 99 srx700. (Both sleds stock). The 98-99 srx700 had some major gearing and clutching issues. The 98 srx700 came with terrible clutching and 23/37 gears as opposed to the better clutching and little shorter gearing of 23/38 found on the later srx700. I am wondering if you took a stock 98 srx700 and changed the gearing to 23/38 and changed the clutching to something like 8dn-20's loaded how close would you be in performance to a 2000-2002 srx700.
I am considering purchasing a second srx700 and I am wondering if a 2000-2002 srx700 would have a performance increase above a properly geared and clutched 98 srx700.
