what do you guys think of a vmax4 as a trail sled? maybe with a updated rear skid?

Deffinantly a monster of a sled. Throw an M-10 under that beastly carbed 4cyl 2-stroke and forget about the new stuff.

I only trail mine, stock suspension. I weigh over 200 and the hard fast bumps are trouble. If you ride on decent groomed trails, you should have no problem. Just hang on. Other than that, know where you gas stations are and enjoy. Very reliable engines, no power-valves to worry about. My 750 has 24000kms(16k miles) on it and still runs very strong. Only problem when riding it I develop a condition I call permasmile.

Make sure you always no where the gas stations are as I think they get about 3 gallons to the mile! Other than that you will be fine.
