So I used to have a 2003 viper mountain that was wrecked but the motor was still strong. I found a guy locally selling a 03 viper mtn with a blown motor, 960 miles. Perfect. His motor blew the PTO cyl and cracked the lower case. So I swapped my good motor in. Since I dont know what caused his to blow I used my carbs, my powervalves and servo (since his were FILTHY) and my oil pump since it was still attached to the motor.
I cleaned the carbs and powervalves before installing them. The motor fired up without much trouble but it isnt idling for beans and after it was running for a few minutes I noticed it was spitting a good amount of unburnt fuel out of the exhaust.
Is it possible there is a cylinder not firing? I am currently using the coil packs that came from the blown sled. Something in the carbs I screwed up putting back? I am pretty sure the gas is coming from the PTO cyl.
Ideas?
