LIFE MEMBER ONLY ONCE!!!
On my 600 SXR I have stock weights, rollers and spring installed. In installed 4.5g outer and 3.6g inner rivets and 1 engagement shim..Put on a 49/45 helix with green spring at 70.With the 1.25 ripsaw I went down 1 tooth upper.Pin it and she screams to 8500 rapidly and then drops fast to 8200 and stays there.Really got a nice pull, just got to get rpm back up.Would dropping from 4.5 upper to a 3.6 help a lot here.Or I can wrap green to 80,but thinks that would be to much pressure for this 600 to over come.
I know with 3.6 in and 4.5 out and stock helix and red at 80 she is pretty well dead on rpm's.Don't know if the 49/45 helix is suited towards the 600.Any suggestions guys..

thanks turk..will give her a try then..

Well I'm gonna be the noob here. Why change clutching? Just for more acceleration and less top end? And when you change the clutching what kind of top speeds are we looking at? I was thinking about a clutch kit on my 97 sx 700 when I get the new track ( hoping to fit a 1 1/4 ripsaw on it )
Basically if it tops out at 85 or so, I won't care. As long as it gets there in a hurry

hows this setup working for you blue? I have a '00 sxr6 that is bone stock clutching/gearing with a ripsaw. and I assume turk you are saying that wit all his other stuff (geared down, helix) that you would change the spring and weight to 2.4, right? really want to wake the old girl up, miss my viper and will be riding this while I wait to get it fixed!! loved th simplicity of the viper green spring and helix setup!

couldn't get that 49/45 to work on the 600..so I sold it to modsrx...I am just going to stay stock on this sled.Have the 8gd's loaded with stock spring.Gonna put stock helix back with red at 80..should be good.I ride the SRX more when the snow is packed and have my 8bu-10 setup on and it rocks the SRX
