Some suggest performing this operation with the sled on it's side which seems to be a good idea allowing gravity to help out when installing.
I do it on a stand or with the rear end up in the air and have little trouble wiggling the skid back in, even by myslef but admittedly the first few were a lesson in how far you can through a wrench across the shop or how many ways to say mofo.
Probable best advise would be to ensure the rear adjusters are all the way slack and either compress the rear shock somewhat with a ratchet strap or loosen the lower transfer rod bolts at the rails before installing. After that, align the fronts first, then the rears and finally the center bolts perhaps releasing some tension from the ratchet strap or wiggle a lot if going the -lose transfer rods- route.

Removing one of the rear outer wheels (the side with the nut), a manly pry bar and a little silicone spray on all things rubber sometimes makes things go easier.
When assembling, lead with the missing wheel/nut side.

I always use a few pieces of wood that are just a little taller than the nub's inside the track. Lay the cross ways in the track and that way the rails slide right in and don't catch on the track . Then just pull the strips out and start fastening the skid in place.

A guy I work with said he just laid his old hyfax down across the inside of the track and slid the skid across them. Same thing only with something probably on the floor at the time since most would have changed them when the skid was out.

I've used an old plastic kitty sled (the single sheet type you buy rolled up) and cut it up to fit around the wheels, between them and inner track lugs sprayed with silicone lube. It did add to the O.D of the rear wheels but helped... especially with a brand new, unstretched track.

lots of good ideas here ! I hate doing a skid job ! Mine has to come out AGAIN and I'm thinking about paying someone who needs the aggrivation more than I do ! I had mine out 4 times over the last 5 years between replacing parts, swapping the M10 in, etc. I need to replace my track and front heat exchanger next ! GGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR Not looking forward to it !
