I just bought this Vmax a little over a month ago and have only ridden it twice so far for less than 15 miles each time. Once was on a lake and last Saturday was a bumpy trail through a field. It has a Bender Pro-Max skid and I just noticed this morning that the shaft on the front shock in the skid is severely bent. Do you guys have any guesses as to why this might have happened?

Right after I bought the sled I pulled both shocks and had them rebuilt and had new lower bushings installed in both. The preload settings were just put back to where they were when I got the sled. I also greased everything and it didn't appear that anything was binding anywhere. I am stumped on this one and also pissed since I am supposed to take it for a 3-day trail ride in the U.P. on the 22nd. Any help/suggestions are greatly appreciated.

looks like the shock was siezed and bent under pressure. or something got in there and binded with the shock.....or maybe installed too tight not letting the end rotate when moving through the stroke......wow, never seen that before unless it was a old crappy seized shock.....hope u get a good answer unlike mine.....good luck

I am wondering if new lower bushing was too tight on the shaft. The old one had a LOT of play so I had it replaced but maybe the new one was too tight. ???

No, this one goes shaft down. It is the ONLY way it can be mounted because of the size of the bushings at each end.

I found out the problem. The shaft wasn't bent at all. What happened was the lower eyelet broke off the shaft right at the base of the threads. It looked like it had cracked partially at some earlier time. I had it tig welded back on and just have to put it back together now.
