1988 Phazer mid range bog

Cleaned the carbs and synched them but it still has a mid range bog/miss. Runs good from idle to WOT but slow down and get it the mid range area 4 to 5000 rpm, it bogs and sounds as though it is 1 cylinder. Any ideas??? Thanks in advance.
 
Check clutches, clean them well, replace any worn springs and secondary sliders, try tightening secondary spring a little.

don't think it's clutching because the clutch side plug is oily so I suspect carbs.
 
Must of been some grit in the carbs. After a good soak and some compressed air, the bog is gone. :WayCool:

yes, they were out once but my dad didn't realize there were ports and jets under those black plugs so he cleaned what he saw and put them back in to no avail.
