2000 yamaha sxr 700 triple the first ride we went on the sled ran great and we rode last night and about 20 miles in the temp light started to flash it would only stay on for about 2 seconds and then went off it did that about 7 times and i got it to a gas station and checked fluid and it was full so we rode about 12 more mile and it was fine and shut down for about an hour and rode home and about 10 miles in the light started flashing again can anyone lend me some insite on my probolem thanks josh.

What were the riding conditions? If you were on hard pack or riding very marginal snow conditions, that's gonna happen. I used to stop and dump snow on my floorboards to keep from over heating. You're going to want to install a rear heat exchanger ;)!

if it happens again pay attention to any sequence the light flashes.
i have had problems with the wires connected to the temp sensor where they enter the connector loosing contact. the slightest bump will make it go off or just a wiggle can make it come on.

when you lifted the hood to check the coolant you may have moved it and then while riding home it bounced out again. just a thought.

I just pulled off the wire to the temp sensor and they seemed tight but if it happens i will pay attention to the sequence thanks
