How accurate are the tachometers on that years machines ?
If not that accurate do they typically read high or low ?
Trying to dial in primary engagement rpm's.

These tachs are not very accurate and really non of them are. These will always read higher then what you are actually going. I was going 116 on radar on my 2000 srx and the speedo said I was way pinned past the 120 mark.

tach. means rpm guage. they are pretty acurate. but actually have found it to be a little on the low side. but shift rpm is normally 8500 on my srx and thats what it shows. so who knows?

I have a pyro 2001 with a digital tach. On mine the stock tach is only off by 100rpm

Tested my stock tach with my Fluke digital multimeter and ignition clamp and its with in 50rpm of actual across the whole sweep.

the tachs are usually very close within a 100 plus or minus. However, if the tach is off it is off by a percentage, not a given rpm, meaning, if it's a 100 off at 8500 it's only 50 or so off at engagement, whats that not even a needle width?
