viper shocks on 01 srx

hi everyone, when doing this do you also have to change the bars that run along side the shock too? what are the shocks eye to eye also? how about the transfer rods how long are they from stock? and the front, im looking for a lift and how can i make it wider will any other front suspension fit? thanks very much, sorry one more thing which years came long travel? thanks again :2strokes:

There are a few parts that need to be changed. Front limiter straps,and the spacers for the transfer rods. This mod has been discussed alot on here. Try the search option above. There are a few options on how to do this. You should find one that best suits your budget and driving style.
 
Thanks but I have been looking and can't find anything about those bars that run along the rear shock, and the front suspension there no info about putting diffent arms to widen it.

Search with key words "Viperizing an SRX" or "long traveling and SRX". Tons of reading.
 
For the basic mod you need the following. 2-Viper limiter straps. 4-Transfer rod shims/washers. The shocks bolt on. No need to change anything else in the rear of the skid. You could use Viper/XTC transfer rods if you like.
Viper and XTC were all long travelled skids. I believe the newer SX series as well but not 100% sure on that.
Up front you can use the longer radius arms from a Viper/XTC to make the front wider and be able to properly utilize the long travel shocks.
I myself put Viper shocks (front and back) onto a 97 Sx. Only changed limiter straps and transfer rod bushings. Left the rest stock. Greatly improved the ride but lost abit of that "flat cornering" capabilities.
