now why would there be rings from the belt everywhere in the fixed sheave of the primary.I just noticed that now after running 80 miles Saturday.Stock 8dn-20's with 4.5 and 5.4 in the weights.Stock y-w-y spring.Belt is fairly new and not coming apart, even scrubbed the belt last week and the odd ring in the secondary sheaves.Never noticed this much belt rings before..Belt can't be slipping constanly when all parts are working..what up with that??

here are some pics for you to see.The belt still measures at 33 mm,no strands coming apart yet..looks good. This belt was installed last FEB..not to many miles on her total..maybe 1000 miles.Thhese pics are with the stock setup.

these pic from from the 8bu-10 setup from 2 days ago..no marks..same belt.Notice at the top the belt does seem to get around 3/8" from top from the black marker left, but (belt thickness) the marks are faint and the sheaves I roughed up are still showing signs of it,not smooth from the belt. Thus the belt ain't clamping down tight when it does reach top of primary...weird.

even with loaded up 8dn20's..I am still over reving a bit.Pin it from a stop..goes to 8700,drops to 84-8500 and stays. If I go into deeper snow and pin it..I see 8900-9000 rpms..????

check offset............... and deflection............bushings are next........ yes if you are spinning in loose snow.. with out load on track you will see more RPM...... tune for the condition you want to run...........on.......come on blue you know by now........

had everything aligned 800 miles ago beginning of season.Bushings are only about 2 seasons old and not that many miles on them.Actually I took this clutch from the 600 and the one from srx to 600 .So this one should even have less miles on it then the one that was on the SRX originally..I have new bushings here, but don't notice a binding issue.

If you take one clutch from one sled to another ,,,,,,, You have to check for ,,,,, trueness,,,,,,,,, (offset) from one to another will be different......... (HAAA) but true........

never thought of that, can't believe 2 yami clutches would be that off.Anyways I put my center to center tool on the jackshaft and dropped into the primary.Something is off for sure.Looks like the motor has to go ahead a tad under 1/8 ".. in order to drop the tool down in place..

I will switch clutches around again just to see..but no way it would make up the difference..motor probaby moved.yet I have a torque limiter in ther also and nothing is broken on mounts either.I really hate trying to line up the motor again,it is a pain I can do without..takes forever to get her lined up properly.Make an adjustment..seems ok..tighten the bolts..check again and it moved..over again and again..... :o| Now I really am going to lose it because I have to take carbs out again and the pipes.Haven't had a good temper tantrum for a while..trying to cool it..but when I do..things go flying in the garage..haven't taken out a window yet..but close.

hehe,,,, settle down blue and enjoy the ride of tune............ just use the one clutch and tune one thing at a time........ but its got to be for the condition you want to ride...... and dont expect it to do the same in all the rest............

I put all new expensive panels on my walls in the garage also..how do I protect that.........looks like c to c is out and of course the deflection is out now... :o| Being that it is out a little.will it cause my clutches from putting out. What happens when the engine is in some..belt should still climb the primary a little higher then..should still be tight when running.

What happens is the pria being the driven does not have the tenshion it needs to push the belt all the way to the top.

hey blue the beer taste very good here lollllllllllll

send me a case mod..gonna need it...blue..won't the belt simply climb up higher in primary to make up for some slack..should still get pressure from the sheaves pushing together....

oh well.just another day of wrenching coming up.... :o| and we getting tons of snow now to..got to get going on getting the SRX running great again...if the sled doesn't perform better after this..the gun is coming out.... #$%&*

Ya when your off center the belt will grab .,,,, you can even feel more tork,, may feel the sled even twist when under power. ..,, but in reality does not transfer strait line performance,,,,,,,,

come to think of it..when the clutch engages I hear a clunk..like the belt slips and then grabs again at a higher rpm..like from 4200 to 4500 and clunk sound happens.
