Increasing power to weigth ratio

just had a look at my current set up. the front mount has been relocated from its original location to accomdate the 151 update. I beleive it is very close to the viper stock mount location. I'll have to do some measurements from the front driveshaft.

Just did some rough measurements and everything is within 3/4". I have a feeling when everything is clean and snow free the measurements should be closer. However they set the current skid on there was pulled back a bit already. I am certain the track is only a 151" though.

What skid do you have right now? Is it a 121 with extensions to a 151, or is it a 144 skid with extensions to a 151. The best way to determine if the 08 and 07 skids are the same is to take measurements (length measurements) between the two skid mounting points, and then to take measurement on the width of the skid mounting points.

my skid is now a 144 with 151 extensions. When i measure the cat skid mount locations I need to measure them on sleds I would assume? I will have to go to the cat dealarship and get some measurements, or find some cats up in the hills and sneak up with a measuring tape.

Dirtjumper,
When i go to measure the 09 skid, should i also be measuring how far back the rails extend from the mounting locations to ensure the 162" track fit will be the same for the 09 skid vs the 07 M153 skid? Or is that not necesarry? If the mounting location of the 09 M153 skid is the same as the 07 M153 skid can I assume if i mount it the same the 162" track will work?

All your input is appreciated, as well as others.

If you measure the length of the rails, i could measure mine, to confirm the geometry was the same. The things i would measure would be the width at the front, width at the rear, and the length between the front and the rear mounting points (center to center) If those three are the same, the skids should be the same. Or if you find a Cat forum or go on Snowest and ask if the skids typically mount the same.
