2004 RX Warrior Rear Shock

I took out my rear shock in the skid of my 2004 RX Warrior and took it to a snowmobile shop to see if it could be rebuilt and the individual said it couldn't. It bottoms out on bigger bumps. The spring is on the max setting. I am thinking the shock does not have any gas left in it. Maybe I am wrong. Should I be doing anything else or is everything OK? I weigh 250 lbs. Would I have to buy another one from Yamaha. The cost would be approximately $400. Can I get something aftermarket?

rear shock

i have a 1995 rx1 mono shock set up and same thing just happened to me - search the site here i found what i was looking for - new and used -

is the shock steel bodied or aluminum? if it is aluminum it can be rebuilt. that sled shop might not have the tools to rebuild it. there are places in canada that do rebuild shocks in southern ontario. i am shure there must be one that can do it but might not be quick turnaround as it is sledding season.
 
Rebuildable shocks for Yamaha Warriors

If you guys are looking for someone to rebuild shocks ,there is a guy in Garson Manitoba that will rebuild non rebuildable shocks. He just did mine for my 2004 Warrior front and back. He charged me 200 for the big one and 30 for the other 3. It is a lot cheaper than the $360 that Yamaha wanted for a new rear shock. !! He said they will be better than new and the ride will be incredible ,I'll let you know !!

There is a guy in Garson Manitoba that rebuilds shocks and does an amazing job. He turns a non rebuildable into a rebuildable. Let me know if you still need the connection. G2 Warrior Guy
